Karhusaari rocky island

Karhusaari is located around a kilometre from the Lappeenranta harbour and is accessible on skis and ice skates during the winter. The island is rocky, and in many areas covered only by a thin layer of moss. As is typical for the area, the rocks consist mainly of mica gneiss with granite sections. Special features of glacial plucking and the washing of waves over open rock can also be seen.
