Lappeenranta Airport is located approximately two kilometers west of the city center. It is the oldest airport in Finland, founded in 1918.

Europe’s biggest low cost carrier Ryanair flies from Lappeenranta to various destinations in Europe.
During summer season 2019 Ryanair offers flights to Milan Bergamo, to Athens, to Thessaloniki  and to Berlin Schönefeld. 
During winter season 2019/20 Ryanair offers flights from Milan Bergamo, from Berlin Schönefeld and from Budapest twice a week to Lappeenranta and Lake Saimaa region.
