The Fortress of Lappeenranta is a historical attraction and it offers wide range of services. Construction began in the 1720’s by the Swedish. The Fortress is built on the First Salpausselkä. The South Karelia Museum and the Lappeenranta Art Museum are located in the Fortress of Lappeenranta.
