Kisapuisto

Kisapuisto is the centre for ice sports in Lappeenranta. The area hosts the City’s ice stadium and training rink, as well as the privately-owned UK Areena, with its two rinks, which are also available for bookings.
Kisapuisto hosts Finnish baseball on its artificial turf and in the winter, it is frozen and called the Big Artificial Ice Rink. Also in the winter, it is the venue for top league games, ball sports, bandy and public skating.
The Kisapuisto Ice Stadium is the home of the SaiPa ice hockey team.
Exhibitions and concerts are also held at the venue.

Ice skating at the artificial ice rink
Public ice-skating at the artificial ice rink is a free-of-charge event organised by the Lappeenranta Sports Services. The big, outdoor, artificial ice rink is split between skaters with and without sticks. Helmets are mandatory for skaters under the age of 18, during public skating events. There are changing rooms, where you can put on your skates.
Public skating sessions are also organised at the private UK Areena.

SaiPa

The Lappeenranta ice hockey team, Saimaan Pallo or SaiPa, has continuously played in the Finnish premier league, Hockey Finland, since 1996. SaiPa was established in the village of Lauritsala, in 1948. The representative team and the A league junior team are managed by Liiga-SaiPa, which was set up in 2000. SaiPa’s home venue is the 4,820 seat Kisapuisto Ice Stadium.
