Salpalinjan Hovi Hotel

The apartment hotel, in the logwood building that once was Rutola School, has been renovated and offers six apartments that have been renovated in a cosy style, each with an individual theme based on a school subject.
As the name hints, the hotel is located near the historically significant military Salpa Line, in a beautiful natural setting, about 9 kilometres from the centre of Lappeenranta.
You can tour the underground military bunkers that were built in the 1940s, with an expert guide.

The apartment hotel is surrounded by natural beauty and it is easy to find by car and has free parking. The apartments have been beautifully appointed based on themes from different school subjects: Finnish language and literature, history, physics, art, biology and music. All rooms feature home-like amenities and they are great for long-term accommodations. The bathrooms feature a toilet, shower and a hairdryer. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, tea kettle and dishes.

Nature activities along the Salpa Line

You can easily go fishing or paddling from the hotel, as it is located along a canoe route. There is a beach only 400 metres away. You can play games, using equipment that is available at the hotel, on the gravel pitch of the old school.
There are also great opportunities for bird watching and bicycling, as well as mushroom and berry picking. The winter season offers opportunities for skating, cross-country skiing and sledding.
