Higher perspective
The Luukkaansalmi Bridge goes over Saimaa from the neighborhood of Lauritsala towards Vehkataipale. The watercourse undercutting the bridge is a popular route for both smaller and bigger watercraft, since it is possible to continue the journey to the Saimaa Canal. The bridge clearance height for boats is 25 meters. The view from Luukkaansalmi Bridge opens towards the center of Lappeenranta and the Kaukas cellulose and paper factory, all the way to the wind tourbine park of Joutseno.
